This was my first apartment on my own, and honestly the only reason I chose it was because I had the money for it at the time. Shortly after moving in and starting my lease, my fiance moved in with me. Like most young couples, we are really struggling through this recession. Last month, we returned home from a weekend with family to find a letter slipped in the door saying that our water bill bounced. This was a $14.27 check! It was the last of our money and the last of the bills and it didn't clear. So wheatland hills tacked on a $35 check return and $70 worth of late fees. In a matter of less than 3 weeks our debt with wheatland hills rocketed from $14.27 to $956.00 and a court summons!!!!
On top of everything else, throughout this whole ordeal, wheatland hills communicated with us by sending their maintenance workers to slip letters through our door... and run away! My fiance sat in our living room, with the blinds open and the tv on, and watched a maintenance guy creep up the steps, slip the letter as quietly as possible, and then hustle back down the steps to his maintenance warehouse.. which happens to be right across from our apartment. So every morning I get to look at the giant pile of trash furniture. The staff is not friendly, far from helpful, and near impossible to get in touch with. Even the neighbors aren't friendly!
Nothing in the apartment is quality or level. The bedroom is higher than the kitchen, all of the kitchen appliances are bolted crookedly to the countertop, the toilet seat rocks, the stove top has 2 heats.. low & crispy, the washer/dryer literally puffs clouds of dust even with my regularly cleaning the lint trap, all of the appliances are old and barely function as well as produce amazing amounts of noise. over all unpleasant experience. not recommended unless you are a solitary older person who does not like a lot of human interaction with anyone.

Ok...you are an idiot. You made a mistake (bounced check) and you think someone else should pay the price? THE MANAGEMENT COMPANY has to pay for YOUR BOUNCED CHECK. You should take a independent living class. It explains that when you bounce a check, the bank covers it, but you have to foot the bill. So...again...why should the company have to pay out-of-pocket for you error? And late fees? Hmmm...if you were never late before I would think as a curtesy they would waive the fee the first time. But some companies have a zero tolerance I guess. But so what? Its in your contract. It seems like you are pissed off because you made a mistake and no one will come to your rescue.
