I like it but do have concerns

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2007
My wife and I moved in a two bedroom townehouse in May of 2007. We picked Brookside because it did offer a good decent price for the ammount of space we got. We did have some problems when we first moved in. The previous owner must have had a cat because the apartment smelled awful of cat urine most concentrated in one of the masterbedroom closets. There were stains on the carpet throughout the place. The Smell in the bedroom was unbearable. We notified the managment and they agreed and replaced the carpet which was nice but was not a nice first impression of our first place. Parking is a real concern here depending on where your townhome or apartment is. There are guaranteed spots for each place so it is sometimes a crunch and there have been days when my wife or myself was not able to get a spot in the area we live which is quite annoying. The final concern we had had to do with an increase in our rent. They have just started installing new kitchens with very nice granite coutners and new appliances. It is shown in the model they have. We were told that they could not promise when we moved in we would have a new kitchen but that we woudl be on the top of the list to get on of the new kitchens. About a month after we lived there we recieved notice of the days they woudl install the new kitchen and the new rent we would have to pay. We were never informed that they would be invcreasing our rent by 100 dollars to get the new kitchen. In fact they gave us the impression that there was a chance we might have the new kitchen before we moved in and that the agreed number would be our rent. They said they could not install the new kitchen if we wante dthe higher rent. I knew my wife really wanted the new kitchen so I agreed but felt they handle the situation very poorly. I have to say though that the maintenance department there does an excellent job. They respond quickly to request and do a very good job of fixing problems. The neighborhood is very quiet and safe. The landscaping is well kept. Overall I do like the place now that I am here but had I known the problems we had I would not have chosen to live here but not worth breaking lease over. That being said i do think we will being moving at the end of our lease. bYr9ljUwtCbMRXE8dRDC
