We have lived here at Brookside for over four years...and every year it gets worse and worse!!!!!!!!!
We could not see our unit before we moved in either. And we were not prepared...we were stuck and had to stay and hoped things would improve. ha
The kitchen, is from 1980. They gave us an option to get a "renovated"kitchen for an extra 150 a month. Our dishwasher never worked. Our oven leaked heat and the burners would constantly go out. Beetles come in from a crack in the brick and cover the floor of the kitchen. The fridge is stained, cracked and leaks. Our washer broke and could not be fixed. That is the one thing they replaced for us . Their motto is "if there is ANY way to make an appliance work, it will not be replaced. That might not bother you if the maintenance actually did there jobs. Once a man entered the townhome to fix something WHILE I WAS IN THE SHOWER. (i am female). He also let our cat go into the space behind the tub in the wall where she was trapped for an entire day. He left while she was still in there saying "she will come out eventually". You can see the outside from our front door through the jamb. Plan on major utility bills when you need to heat or cool your unit. We were very very conservative with this and it was still a ton of money. This had to be the loudest complex and unit we ever rented. Our roof leaks. The carpets don't reach the wall. A year ago we found our dryer (which had be worked on three times) was not connected to a ventitlation tube to the outside. Our tiles in the tub fall out and the tub leaks into the laundry room. The bathrooms are old and disgusting. They fix them by recaulking them...every year, but it needs to be done about every two months. the vents don't suck out the humid shower air therefore producing mold. The flimsy plastic tiles in the upstrs broom and in the kitchen are peeling up. Our cabinets don't stay shut. The walls themselves are cracking as well as the ceiling. The screen door has been torn and off the track. All of our sliding closet doors have come off the track. The other doors stick. The floor is slanted.They told us no grills. We threw ours away only to have everyone rented since been able to use them. During the winter the plowing is horrific. There are tons of parents who let there children wander where ever so you have to keep an eye out that you don't run them over. A tree fell on our neighbors car and crushed it. When it rains, water pools in front of our door. You will never get to know the staff. They change with the seasons. The people who rent here are not the most polite or clean group as of late either.
the rent goes up at least 100.00 every year. Your home will NOT resemble the model or the pictures. The Brook is a disgusting runoff filled with garbage and smells like sewer. I have so much more to write and warn people about but am out of energy...We are leaving in two days!
The funny thing is they told us they would have to rip the walls apart to check for mold and take the ceiling down because of the roof but we got a call from our cable company saying that our home had been rented to someone already. Funny how the complex is psychic and knows how long it is going to take to fix the dozens of serious issues with the house. These people are crooks and rude and dismissive. We have had meetings with them. Left messages. Called the Main Office. Typed complaints. Nothing has helped.
I urge you to please take me seriously in saying this place is horrendous.The planted flowers or balloons at the entrance may look nice but that is it. I have talked with multiple people who rent or used to rent here and they all felt the same way.
