I have lived here for almost 3 years now (2004-2007) and while I agree that it is an ok apartment to live in temporarily, over the past few years things have changed dramatically.

The building that I am in is not kept up all that well. People leave trash and furniture in the hallways and it always has a bad smell. Alot of the more quieter people have moved out and the neighbors are very noisy, rude and not very considerate of others. Doors are slamming constantly and people are running in and out all hours of the morning. If you are a person that loves peace and quiet this is not the place for you to live. In addition, there are police and fire sirens that blast constantly through the night. There is one laundry room on site. It has 3 economy size washers and 3 economy size dryers. It is very expensive, sometimes left a mess and it is hardly convenient for 50 plus people living in the two buildings.

The downside to this also is that because it is an older building we have had all kinds of problems including plumbing,losing electricity for 24 hours on several occasions in the summer, leaking water throughout the apartments and losing hot water in the winter. The owners of this building is in New York and do not want to be contacted under any circumstances. Unless you contact the Management Office in the building, during regular business hours Monday -Friday 8:30am to 3:00pm, whatever problem you have, no matter how big will have to wait until the next day. If its the weekend well tough cookies.

The one positive that I see is that there is alot of stores nearby but even this is not enough for me to spend one more year in this place..

I agree with everything, (especially the NO recomendation) except I think the ratings for maintenance, grounds, safety and office staff should be lower -- zero if that were possible.
