after moving in in january, the heat didn't work. they fixed the problem in the bedroom, but it still isn't the warmest in the winter months. then april came and the problems started. my new downstairs neighbor smokes, and it seeps up through the floors, and now my apartment reeks like an ashtray. i spoke about it with the manager, and i told her that when i moved in, i was told i was in a 'nonsmoking' building. she said 'we don't have nonsmoking buildings.' and did nothing about the problem. then in may, the heat came. and my air conditioner' doesn't work. i make numerous complaints, but they claim because i live on the second floor i get all the heat from the sun in the day time. that still doesn't explain how my air conditioner is on full blast for two weeks and it's still 85 degrees in my apartment on an 80 degree day. oh, and i'm paying a $200 electric bill on a 1 bedroom place. with air conditioning that's from the 1960s. altogether, i'd say if you can get a downstairs apartment, this place isn't half bad. i haven't had any security problems, and my neighbors are friendly enough. but if you have to live on the second floor, i'd say find somewhere else. the problems aren't worth it. and the management is questionable at best.
