Affordable, quiet, safe

I looked at many, many apartments before settling on Macungie Village. Now I plan to live here until I buy a house. The units are afforable, nice, quiet and in the lovely borough of Macungie.

My building is next to a corn field, so it even has a nice view. There are three parks within easy walking distance. My building has a nice little yard behind it, so I can take my dog outside to play right here. They allow one cat or one dog (25 pounds or less) per apartment for $10 extra a month.

But I know you probably want to know the downsides to these apartments, so I'll give them first.

1. The air conditioning/heating is LOUD. Yes, it's loud. It took several months to get used to, but now I don't notice.

2. The floors are noisy. I'm on the second floor, so it doesn't bother me, but if you're on the first floor and living below kids, it could be irritating.

3. The layout for the 2nd floors makes moving in difficult. The door is on the right side, so you have to turn to go up the stairs. But some 2nd floor units look like they have doors that go straight upstairs.

4. You are living near train tracks, so you will hear them and now and then get stuck waiting in your car for a train to pass.

I've never met nicer apartment staff (except for the lady in the office on Tuesdays -- avoid her.) They are constantly maintaining the units. In fact, the office manager actually asks me every time I take in the rent how everything is in the apartment. They *really* care, and that's nice.

The bedroom is spacious, and they are intalling new cabinets in the kitchens. The bathroom is a good size, and you get a small washer/dryer.

The buildings are small, so you can actually know your neighbors. And parking isn't a problem. The sidewalks are always shoveled very quickly after snow, and the staff shovel our doorstep promptly.

You'll be in the East Penn School District (one of the best in the Lehigh Valley), and Macungie is a very safe area with its own police department.

I think the price is a good value, and these are fabulous apartments. If you want to ask me more questions or if you want to split the referral fee 50-50, you can e-mail me at ironman1day at yahoo.com. But I know you'll love Macungie Village.
