Don't do it to yourself

I have only lived here for four months and I've been looking for a new apt. since month two. Oh everything looked great before we moved in... then the fun began. Since the very first week we've had water coming through our floor. Over time mold grew in the carpet causing everyone in the apt. to get really sick. Request after request was made to have the problem fixed but for months they would do nothing but wet-vac it up. Then they came and ripped out our dishwasher and all the lining along the bottom of the cabinets leaving behind gaping holes which extended back inside the walls. We own two kittens and after almost losing one of them we were forced for the next few weeks to keep them locked up in our rooms. We were never up-dated on what was going on despite daily phone calls until the night before the crew was suppossed to come in and fix things.
They called us at 4 and told us they would give us another apt. to stay in but we needed to let them know by 5. There are 5 people in the apt. all together and there was no way to track them all down in less then an hour. So we had to decline. The next day jack-hammering began at 8AM. Our entire kitchen was put into the hall and then one of our bathrooms was torn apart. We were told we had the next 45 min to an hour to shower and use the toilet before they cut the water off until possibly the next day. It was not until we threatend to sue the complex that they came out to address our concerns and promptly move us somewhere else.
Before this we were experiencing bug problems which ranged from flying things, to ants, to roaches. We were always very careful to keep things clean and keep food sealed. The exterminator only comes out every two weeks so we were forced to deal with these infestations ourselves. It got to the point where I had to lock myself and my pets in my room and duct tape my door so that the bugs could not get in. (They all came from the kitchen.)
There is only one laundry card given to each apt and every time you want to put money on it you have to go all the way over to the rental office.
I have lived in apts. all my life and this by far is the worst and most expensive place I have ever lived!! And I'm from New Jersey for cryin out loud!
