One headache after another

I have lived here for almost seven months now and have had MULTIPLE maintenance issues. Serious ones.
When I first moved to Pittsburgh from out of state, I was looking forward to moving to Adams Pointe as it looked like a very luxurious and pristine community; however, I have been consistently disappointed by the poor construction of the buildings and the lack of interest in maintenance troubles on behalf of the property manager. On more than one occasion my windows have literally blown/fallen in on themselves. I'm not the only one in the community that has had this happen, and was told by maintenance that much worse has happened in other units. My furniture has been damaged and my safety has been put at risk. I can't even open my windows on a nice day for fear of them breaking and injuring someone. Not to mention the fact that they are extremely drafty - expect a higher utility bill!! They are not energy efficient AT ALL.
As far as noise: I can literally hear EVERY step the people in the unit above me take. I can pinpoint at any given time which room they are in - it's LOUD. I acknowledge the fact that this is an apartment, and some noise is to be expected, but this is beyond a reasonable level. It's not like the people above me are partying and running around - they're just living their lives and going about their business in their house. I can also hear the toilet flush above and beside me and can hear when my neighbors are taking showers. The walls are not insulated very well to block out the noise. It almost reminds me of the movie "Office Space" where the guy talks to his neighbor through the wall - although my neighbors aren't that friendly, and wouldn't suggest that I turn to channel 9 to check out that commercial.
I've also heard some horror stories about trying to get your security deposit returned - I've been told that they try to find things that weren't even tenant responsibility to justify keeping it (such as replacing carpet that was 5 years old and stained when you moved in!).
Bottom line: the owners get treated like gold and renters get treated like second class citizens who are a nuisance. I would definitely NOT recommend this community. It may LOOK classy/sophisticated/elegant/luxurious at first glance, but it's run by a bunch of money-hungry goons.
