You may think to yourself an apartment is an apartment. I soon learned the error of my ways! The price certainly doesn't reflect it but these apartments are some of the cheapest I have ever seen. The walls are so poorly designed that the plaster chips just from normal life and you better make sure you buy a plunger before you move in because everytime you flush the toilet it backs up. The major problem with the place though is the noise. You can hear every word people say even when they are just having a normal conversation let alone when they are yelling and screaming. Don't bother complaining to the office staff about this problem because they certainly aren't going to do anything about it. I've tried and they told me I would have to move, even though it wasn't my fault. Also if you have pets make sure you are ready to lock them up in a room all day on a moments notice because there is a note posted on the door at least once a month saying that maintenance is coming in tomorrow to change "filters" or something like that. Overall I'd say this was the worst decision of my life. Unless you are ready to walk away from at least $1500, or more if the apartment doesn't get rented out, in penalties(which I am at this point it is so bad) when you eventually break the lease, DON'T MOVE IN!!!

I totally agree with your comments. I have a pet and it's a real nuisance to come home at 5pm or 9pm or whenever and find out that they are coming in the next day. One time, I called the office and asked when they would be coming in to do the pest control and the woman didn't even know where the building was that I am in and she told me she didn't know when that was scheduled. I asked her if we were going to get notice before the night before and she said that we would get a notice 24-48 hours in advance which did NOT happen. As I was coming home the night before they were posting them at 5pm to tell us that they were coming in the next day...nice! I noticed some neighbors who were home before the notice and did not even see it until the next morning or whenever they left the house the next time--ridiculous!! I also agree with the comments about the walls. Everyone scrapes the walls by accident and I am a klutz so I do all the time but I like to keep my place nice and free of scratches on the walls but if you try to wipe it off, it just goes right through and then puts a hole in the "paint" which I read in another comment that it is just primer which makes sense because as I was looking at the walls in the living room and bedroom one day I was sure there was no way there was paint on them. I can't believe they could be that cheap to not even put a coat of paint on the walls, not to mention that it would be much easier to clean off and keep the walls looking nice if they did. I have friends who have rented from the cheapest of the cheap and even they had paint on the walls and the landlord repainted before a new tenant moved in. I pay $610 for a one bedroom and $25 for a pet and it is tiny--way overpriced but I needed to find a place asap and they were the only place in the area that had an opening right away. And, you are right about the noise. I can hear the people next door's conversations as if I'm sitting in the room with them. And, this is my favorite--every month they send out a calendar and we usually don't even get it until the last week of the month or even the last day!! What's the point of that??? They seem like they are having trouble getting their act together if they are delivering calendars on the last week of the month not to mention that sometimes they deliver them for two months time and the previous month has already been over and done with almost 4 weeks ago and the present month is almost over! It would be nice if they could deliver them on time that way residents would know when the pest control is scheduled and I think they should also put the other scheduled maintenace on there so that residents know ahead of time when they are coming in. I would be LIVID if I stayed at home during the day and they just showed up and I had no idea because I didn't get the notice that was posted on the door not even 24 hours ago.
