It all started out great. It was my husband and I's first place together and it was the perfect amount of room to start with. We really didn't have much when we first moved in so the place looked great.
However, three years later, let's just say that we have outgrown the apartment. When we dropped off the notice that we would not be renewing our lease, they "misplaced" it. How convenient, right' So we were stuck there.
I thought, well you know, I would like to clean everything up anyways, so that way the woman that comes and cleans the apartment after we leave, will have an easier job. Don't scrub the walls! A little bit of warm water and a sponge will peel the paint right off. It is not even paint. I used to be a floor and wall specialist and they only have primer on the walls. I thought that I was doing some good by wiping down the walls but the next thing I knew, I was looking at drywall. For those of you who want to scrub the walls in here, only do the kitchen and bathroom because they are the two rooms with actual paint. The drywall is also very thin. Don't lean on the wall too hard or you might fall through. IT never happened to us, thank God.
You will never hear your neighbors on the sides but you will hear the neighbors above or below you. Our first floor neighbors, we never heard because they were so quiet but when new people moved in, I then realized that the floor/ceiling is pretty thin.
When you are having an issue with a neighbor, don't count on the office to do anything. They tell everyone to confront them yourselves and then call them. I am sorry but with the price of the apartments and the fact that there are no onsite activities (pool, fitness center, a small park) and they do not cover any of the high priced utilities, I feel that was the least that they could do. Not to mention the fact: What if you have a violent-tempered neighbor and you confronted them and they yelled at you and punched you in the face or tampered with your car' I didn't feel that I should have had to take that risk. They are getting paid to manage and I am paying a nice chunk of money for that service.
The one great thing though is the maintenence guy. When we had any issue with something in the apartment, that man was at my door in five minutes and the problem was fixed, asap. I was very pleased with him. I couldn't have asked for better service.
There are good things and bad things but then again, this is with every apartment complex as large as the Brambles. I am not singling out the Brambles. I have heard worse stories about other places and I have heard better but my advice to someone who wants to rent: Either don't rent if you can afford to buy a place or go with a private renter that does not have as many tenants to tend to.
I really do not advise anyone to rent in any apartment complex with a lot of tenants unless you are getting a package that is unbeatable.
