A mixed bag...

This place was located in the town I wanted to live in, very close to where I worked. The living/dining/entryway area is very large. The main bedroom is very large. The closets are huge. My roommate and I were fine for the first few months. A few interesting neighbors, but nothing really bad. The only thing was the living/dining/entryway had no light, so we had to setup our own. Which isn't really a problem. Just an observation. The outlets are kinda far apart, and you need lots of lamps to be able to see.
After being there for a few months, we started seeing the police come around more often. I probably saw them at least twice a month. And this wasn't just for patrolling, it was for a domestic disturbance or some such thing. Maybe that does not happen anymore, but at the time it seemed like some of the tenants were very shady. I understand that this is not really the apartment manager's fault, but it does say what type of people you might be living with if you come here.
About four months into our lease, our washer or dryer broke. I don't remember which one. So we were promised a new set. Cool! ...Except it took them a month or more to get us new ones, which really sucked. But once we got them, it was wonderful to have a brand new washer and dryer.
Kitchen cabinets broke easily, they were cheap and old. Windows and doors were somewhat drafty, and our heating bill in the winter was very high. Maintenance would sometimes be pretty responsive, but sometimes not come for weeks. One time something happened in the upstairs apartment, like their toilet seal failed or something. All we know is a bunch of dirty water came through the ceiling into our bathroom. My roommate had to clean it up. And it took a few weeks for the maintenance people to come and clean up our bathroom and put a new ceiling in (it had a large dark stain for a while). I don't know what they did with the upstairs apartment. I mean, we're two young guys. We don't *really* care if the ceiling is nasty looking...but c'mon. Part of our rent is supposed to go to upkeep.
Overall, the place is old. The materials used to build it are cheap. Also, the walls were made of some weird wood that wasn't very thick, and painted very thinly. So if you stuck a poster to the wall with sticky tack, sometimes when you would take it off, it would rip off the paint and some of the wall. Weird.
The first few months, as I said, were OK, but after a while things just started building up. Broken dryer. Broken upstairs bathroom pouring into our bathroom. Broken kitchen cabinets. Unresponsive maintenance most of the time.
At the end of our stay, they got a new property manager, new property staff, and I think even new maintenance people. They were putting brand new doors on the place (maybe to help with the draft). So maybe this place is better now, but I would never live there again.
