I moved here late December of 2006. I gave my 60 day notice that I was leaving on December 1 2007, 20 days before my one year was up. They are now telling me I will have to forfeit my security deposit because I did not give notice to them 60 days prior to my one year date, meaning I would have had to tell them on October 20th that I was leaving and because I did not it automatically renewed another year at an increased rental rate. Additionally, my rent was late by 7 days ONCE and they had already filed with the court for an eviction. Forget the normal 15 day grace periods that most places allow, I had to appear in court and pay court costs for paying my rent 7 days late! The office staff may appear to be nice initially, but they are incompetent and do not return phone calls. The home office in King of Prussia is the same way. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone.

So let me get this straight: You gave your **60** day notice only **20** days out...and you are surprised? I mean, c'mon, do the math. Also, I dunno where you have stayed before, but as far as grace periods go, 5 days is pretty much the norm. At least at 99% of the places on the East Coast. Read your lease. Don't complain because you didn't know the rules that were given to you IN WRITING.
