I have lived in a one-bedroom apartment at Deauville for two years and it has been a fantastic experience. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, and maintenance requests are always promptly addressed (they can even be submitted online).
The apartments themselves are in great condition, with lots of closet space. In addition, I've found that the sound-proofing is excellent and that the insulation is also great. Water is included in the rent and the only bills I've had to pay are electricity and cable. My electricity bill ranges from $30 in the fall/spring to $50-60 in the summer/winter, which I find to be very reasonable.
There is plenty of parking all over the apartment complex and the grass/exteriors are well-maintained. The community swimming pool is also nice and there are a number of activities held each month.
I commute to school (Carnegie Mellon University) and it takes about 15 minutes in no traffic and up to 30-40 minutes with traffic. It's very convenient and Monroeville is an excellent suburb, with a nearby Giant Eagle and Target.
The only downside is that laundry is not included and there is only one washer-dryer combo to 10 units. It costs about $3.50 a load, which is pretty outrageous.
I highly recommend this apartment complex to anyone looking to work in Pittsburgh but still live in a suburb.
