I currently live in a two bedroom first floor apartment at the Waterfront and I am very disappointed in it. The first couple days of living here were the worst. Here are some of the things that we discovered:
1) The master bedroom is right below a walkway on the third floor. No insulation at the very least. Almost daily we are woken up by footsteps on the ceiling.
2) Trains on all sides. The trains blow their whistle when going through every intersection
3) Little storage space for a two bedroom apartment. Although they have walk in closets - not big enough. The hangers in the closets also have dividers so you can't slide your clothes more than an inch to the left or right (depending on the amount of hanging clothes).
4) A total of 5 cabinets in the kitchen. The only one that fits standard size plates is the bottom cabinete. And even in this cabinette, you have to turn the plates sideways to fit them into the cabinete.
5) No door hangs correctly. Very bad craftsmanship
6) All construction materials are CHEAP! The medicine cabinetes in the bathrooms are constructed with kindle wood and unsanded.
7) Don't let them tell you that you can have a satellite dish. We are told we could. After reading the rules for hanging the dish we had to cancel and go with more expensive cable TV. Only those who have balconies can have a dish.
8) Water pressure sucks and drains are slow.
9) The Air conditioner in our apartment works well for only the downstairs. We had maintenance over to fix but they only closed some of the downstairs vents. Didn't work. The air conditioner is not big enough to supply enough cold air for the upstairs. I'm afraid what this winter is going to be like with the heat.
10) Takes 2 minutes for the hot water to reach the kitchen sink - about 5 feet away from the water heater.
11) Hear every step the people who live above me take.

It is nice to be able to walk to the stores and restaurants but feel like I'm living in a hole. Very secluded. Trial is a nice feature but pretty short when you start to use it. Also all grass is sprayed with poison. So even though you think you are being healthy by walking/running on the trail, you are just killing yourself with the poisons they spray to kill the weeds. Construction on bridge make it difficult to come and go. Management has been ok.
About 12 more months on the lease and will be departing. Better places for far less are out there.
