I'd recommend caution in renting here. As my girlfriend and I looked at our apartment to be, she rental manager went on and on about how quiet of a place this was. It was anything but, as we found out later.

Our upstairs neighbor played loud music and screamed at her children all through the night our first night there, and has been a ceaseless source of strife since, sending groups of people down to our door to intimidate us, flushing the toilet multiple times every time I use the shower, threating both my girlfriend and I if we complained. This neighbor of ours will commonly stay awake for 3 or 4 days straight, screaming on the telephone at all hours, usually starting in around 5am, though her phone madness record was a 19-hour screamathon. The Norristown police are a joke and won't do anything about it (their advice being: Move) and the property manager doesn't seem to think that neighbors sending a posse over constitute much of a threat.

Also, the carpets in the bedroom soak every time it rains, the place was pretty dirty when we moved in, and maintenance is... a joke. The window locks could be defeated by any competent 5 year old, and our front door shows signs of being kicked in more than once.

I realize that this is Norristown, so it's not really going to be anything nice, but some nights I can't sleep at all.

That being said, the price is right, and everyone else I've met in the complex is ok.
