glad I don't live here anymore

So glad we could buy a house and get out of here. Huge rent increases every year, always justified by so-called upgrades that often had already taken place a year or two earlier (white kitchens, big deal) or seal-coating of the parking lots. Scary rental manager. Very nice until you sign the lease, then watch out! Vindictive and moody! Cheap carpeting, paint, and appliances. Pool hardly ever open in the summer. Manager's son was the lifeguard and took hours-long breaks. Couldn't say anything about the manager's son. Unsafe, ancient playground equipment. Silly quarterly newsletters in which the rental manager and her husband (the maintenance supervisor) would brag about their son's achievements. HORRIBLE noisy air conditioning units. Had terrible headache all summer from the noise. Cost about $300 a month to run air conditioning and barely kept the place cool. Maintenance staff wasn't too bad, usually nice and polite and fairly quick to respond to major problems. That's about the only positive thing I can say about this place. When we left we gave full notice and didn't break our lease, yet rental manager REFUSED to confirm our rental history with out mortgage lender. Had rented for years in other apartment communities and never had such an unpleasant experience.
