Everything that previous people have listed here is true.
If you value your privacy/quiet this is NOT the place to move to since the walls are PAPER THIN. You can hear alarm clocks below and next door go off CLEAR as DAY even before your own alarm clock goes off. You can hear footsteps/the TV's of your neighbors next door and coversations/arguments - among other things. In the Summertime rap music is often BLARED so loudly that from open apartment windows anyone in the vacinity can hear it clear as day.
Tenants on my floor were evicted in January and for the time they lived there it was pure hell. There was a constant stream of traffic of visitors (during the evening) - I swear they were dealing drugs out of their apartment and they were all about 19-20 years old. I could never figure out who acutally lived there versus who was a transient visitor. One morning when I was on my way to work there was a kid about 19 years old PASSED out or SLEEPING in the stairwell. I asked him if he was alright and he just GRUNTED at me like I was bothering him so I simply stepped over him and then reported what I saw to the office.
There have been acts of vandalism/graffiti in the hallways as well as where the mailboxes are located.
The smell of pot is frequent in the hallways.
Police visits are sporadic - don't be surprised if you see police cars/officers on the grouds for some reason or another.
I honestly can't figure out how people pay their rent since it seems like 80% of the tenants don't work or they work strange hours where they come home on a WEEK-DAY (not week-end)and decide to host a poker party with friends at 4am drunk & loud as can be. (Another example of a NOISE ISSUE!!)
They allow dog privileges but some tenants are abusing that since there have been massive amounts of dog waste just left and not picked up ALL OVER the property.
In general, they need to do a better job of screening their tenants because God only knows where some of the people come from. They seem to have been raised in barns. I've complained about trash being strewn in the hallways/stairwell...
I have also needed to cancel several rent checks and resubmit checks since occasionally the office loses the check that I submit for the month.
The hot water situation has been corrected - (thank God) but there were times when there was nothing but cold water or NO water to take a shower with. The only good thing is that cable is included in your rent.
As far as the parking situation, it's amazing how many cars have FLAT TIRES in the lot which goes to show how the tenants don't take care of their personal property - the cars sit there taking up spaces with flat tires for weeks.
Good luck in your search - you can find a better place than this.
