Things have changed!

A lot of these reviews are so old and none of them are up to date. Since new management and supervisors have taken over, a lot of things have changed! The new housekeeper is amazing .. I have never seen the halls so clean! Maintenance is actually getting work done and the new management works with you on things and makes sure work actually gets done! The ladies in the office are so nice and are doing a great job. A lot of these reviews sound like angry tenants trying to get revenge, if you read your lease and the rules .. you would understand why they did what they did. For example, the whole spray paint on the vehicles thing. You sign the rules and regs to park here and if you actually read it, you would know that they aren't responsible for damage to private property .. that's what your insurance is for .. and yes it will cover it. Same with damage to you property in the apartment if there is a leak, why do you think they have renters insurance'! Common sense people! As for pests, most of the time it comes from people who don't take care of their apartment. And if you do clean your apartment and still need to get rid of those pest, call the office and let them know so you can be put on the list for the exterminator! The pool is now open from 12-8pm, granted it doesn't always open at the begining of the season, but at least the keep it open later! Anyways, I think they place is great and the people who don't are just people who are never satisfied with anything!

Oh gee you've been there a year and now you're an expert on the complex. Try being there for 7 years and then you can pass judgement on the people who are posting their comments. I learned a couple of months ago from a total stranger that Marshallwood is looked at by the rest of the community as no more than a "project complex" these days. Yes things are now getting better, but don't speak on what you don't know; because you have a good experience does not mean that the rest of us do-lucky you. It's funny that those who aren't part of a situation can so easily assume that the people complaining are just "angry tenants wanting revenge". Sure, I love taking time out of my day to post a comment on a website to help others make a decision whether to move somewhere or not, because I simply have nothing better to do, right? Please make an opinion about your own experience and stop bashing the people that already obviously have more problems to deal with than you judging them.

Yes I just moved in a year ago .. but I lived here back when R and S used to be here .. moved before the fire happened. So .. I know what it was like back then too .. and I still didn't have a problem. As for the other comment .. management?! I think probably not .. as much as i like living here .. you couldnt pay me enough to work here .. i feel bad for the ladies in the office and what they have to deal with. Anyhow, If you're so unhappy with this place ..why stay 7years .. why not move?!

I was living there for 7 years. When I moved there it was no way near as bad as it is now!!! No, you don't just get bugs because you yourself do not keep your apartment clean! Once 1 person has roaches everybody will eventually have them. Theres over 30 apartments in the complex right now with bed bugs. As for the women in the office there untrained ghetto girls. I was scared to give Jane my rent check because she looked like a smoker with jacked up teeth. Maintanence is a joke! You aren't even able to talk to the owners. Teir hardly ever there & when they are they lock themselves in their offices. My lease also stated I didn't have to live with bugs, I got hot water on a regular basis, as well as heat, was provided a pool, gym & coffee shop. Where's it all at??? Since you like it there so much eventually it will be you, the -------- & all the other Norristown trash living there! ( I'm sure if your not part of management you fall into one of those catagories)

Why live here 7 years? Well unlike the lucky person who post this original comment, some of us have responsibilities that enable us to live and get by, though we are unable to leave at the present time. I for one have 2 adult dependents I care for at the age of 26, pay bills, and go to school full time on top of that. Oh I have been saving and planning to move early next summer, but it's one thing to make a plan to move vs. feeling forced to move because of the living conditions. I am tired of code enforcement coming every month because of work that maintenance is not keeping up with. My family was actually forced to switch apartments the week before Christmas (and a day before I had surgery) because of lack in repairs to our apartment that code enforcement found. Then, Christmas Day and 5 days after foot surgery in a new apartment, my toilet didn't work and was overflowing all day. And did they pay for us to move?? No. I literally had to threaten the maintenance man (who thank God is no longer working there) because he thought he was in charge, he thought the entire issue was a joke, and was our responsibility to fix. I asked to speak to the owner twice and they referred me right back to the same maintenance man, because he kept a lot of information from the owner and didn't want to get himself in trouble. Well I guess that back-fired on him- so sad. As for the ladies in the office, they are all clueless. Jane is one of the nicer ones actually, appearances aside. Yes, 7 years ago, and maybe even 6 years ago it was a wonderful place to live. Now it is a dump that is considered the worst possible place to live in Norristown.

I also have live at Marshall Woods for at least 7 years and this place really sucks now. Before we had continental breakfast, the pool was opened before labor day and code did not come every few weeks or months and then don't show at all. Also, if there is no emergency, why won't the office give 24 to 48 hours notice before to let you know that code is coming. They post the note on your door at 6 p.m. and even 10 p.m. the day before. They can make sure you get a note on your door that code is coming the next day but they cannot do anything they are supposed to when it is to be done. The pool this year opened on August 1st then a week later the water was green, how ghetto is that. Jane is an angry, unprofessional, trashy looking wanna be. She will say anything and lie just to cover her a--. They want you to do what they want in the time they want it and when you need them to complete something they never get it done and will continue to put it off. The maintenance man (if you want to call him that) is a Columbo wanna be. He thinks he is Robo cop and yet he maintains nothing. But he will tell you what you are doing wrong. So many people wants to kick his ___. Jen is actually the better of all of them including the ignorant building manager or owner what ever he may be. She takes a lot of stuff and if she just listens to your concerns it beats trying to explain away or push off your complaints just to get you out of her face like Jane. Jen a word of advice "get out now." They cannot be paying you much for these problems. Jane must get paid $10 an hour because the saying is "you get what you pay for" and we are not getting much when it comes to Jane. Tabitha, Jody, Lillian and even Denise were much better working with people that Jane is. You would think they would care enough to make a change. They need to have a Public Hall Meeting so we the tenants can come and air our problems and recommend changes. When I first got here they had a meet and greet your new neighbor and you could tell your concerns and they were taken care of immediately. Jane a word of advice. "Shout up and stop lying". Do your job and maybe things will get done when they are suppose too. That is called "a job" look it up, and learn something. They really should screen the people they hire to care for a property and not just hire someone that is below what they want to pay. To the owner, get off your a-- and do somethings. It is embarrassing to live in a place that stinks, sucks, and all it is known for is how "Ghetto Fabulous" it is. You are becoming a slum lord. If you don't want to do that then sell the place to someone that cares about Norristown and its community and people.

To the last responder, you sound like a great person!! You're response is so true. We all thought Tabitha and her crewe were bad, now look at what's in there! There are so many things wrong at that place, it would take a miracle to clean it up. They should close buildings one at a time and redo them. Or condem some and fix the others. Have you seen the new "manager"? He said he's not the same type of --- the others area. Thought they were all the same. They look down on "us" but look at them. Slum, slum, slum landlords. Hope they don't get any ideas from the guy that had the cameras installed in his apartments!!

I'm a cab driver and i was almost killed on the 29th of october! The customer asked me to help her with a baby carriage and i was greeted by two thugs in the stairwell with bats and luckily escaped with multiple wounds....Awful Place
