My new wife and I have lived in Regatta Apartments since January '07. When moving out of our old place, we had decided on a place, but waiting 2 more weeks to decide, and just happened upon this place. Upon seeing the place and the apartment, we knew we were going to pick this place. After living there 2 years we are very happy with our apartment.

The location is nice and set away so it doesn't feel like you are in norristown/plymouth meeting. The complex is very pet friendly and has pet clean-up stations located at many places around on the sidewalks. The grass is usually well maintained. The looks of the apartments are beautiful as well.

The only problem I have is behind my apartment, when it rains, puddles of water will sit for days. They have tried numerous times to fix this, but it is do to construction at the top of the hill.

They recently redid the Gym and before it was ok, but now it exceeds all of my standards. Plenty of machines (4 treadmills, 4 elipticals, 1 bike, 1 stepper, full barbell set, 2 benches, 2 exercise balls and a all in 1 gym). There are a few, 3 or 4 tvs in the room with each machine having a headset hookup that lets you choose which to listen to. The gym is always clean and well maintained. Attached to the gym is the computer room, this doesn't bother me since it is a seperate room. It is open 24 hours via your building code access number. There is also a bathroom with 1 shower attached.

They pool is nice and there is plenty of places to lay if you get there early. It can be packed, but there is a good mixed crowd of family and young people. In the pool area there are 2 big grills that are nice for cook outs.

I have reported people for not cleaning up after their dogs and I have noticed a change in these people habits which shows me that me saying something makes a difference.

And now to the actual apartment. I live in a 2Br, 2 Bath apartment. There is plenty of parking outside of the building. I have never had a problem with noise. I think some people complain about the train, but that is everywhere you go around Norristown, and it isn't that loud. Some nights though there is a foul smell in the air because of a sewage treatment plant I believe.

The carpets are nice and bedrooms are big with plenty of closet space. The Kitchen has plenty of cabinent space and the Appliances are all very nice and work well. The water pressure of the shower is good and the bathrooms are perfect and very big as well.

When we first moved in the dryer wasn't working and they replaced it within a day. This has been my only experience with Maintanence.

Overall I am glad that we chose this place to live. We are probably moving out into a house soon, but the 2 years in this complex have been enjoyable. Everyone we have met is kind. I haven't had any real problems with our apartment, the staff is nice, and it is in a nice area.

Last thing, pets are welcome and they are very pet friendly. Every day there are constantly people walking their dogs. They have a restriction on certain 'agressive' breeds, but I don't think it is strictly enforced. Our dog is a pitbull-chow-lab mix, and they were ok with it. I think pitbull and chow were on the list of not allowed dogs. They met our dog so I would think it just has to deal with the disposition of the dog on a case by case basis.

I don't remember if we pay a monthly fee or $25 or something like that, but I know there was an inital $350 or so non-refundable deposit.

Addition:
I forgot to mention, access to buildings is via a pin at the front door. They also have in apartment security systems in place if you chose to do that, though you need to find your own provider.

I saw on other posts about bug problems, and I have not experienced anything with this. The Dog poop is a given in a pet friendly community, but if you report people for not cleaning up, they are warned and then fined. There is one dumpster on-site, which is a pain, but it isn't awful. I knew it moving in and thought I would hate it, but it doesn't bother me that much.

Update - We are officially moved out and had our walk through. One WARNING the pet DEPOSIT IS NOT A DEPOSIT for damages, it is just A FEE for having the pet live there. It DOES NOT COVER PET DAMAGE WHEN YOU MOVE OUT! That is a load of crap that I feel really drags my overall good experience down to just an OK experience that wi would not recommend.
