Worst Maintenance Man Ever

Having read some of the comments of other tenants, I am shocked to say the least that they find fault with the manager of the apartments. I find the opposite to be true regarding who is to blame for a lot of the problems going on at this time.

Management is to collect the rent from the tenants by the due date. You owe the rent, pay it by the due date and leave it at that. Who cares when she deposits your check' All that should matter to you is that you paid when you were supposed to pay, on time.

I think the BIGGEST PROBLEM is the MAINTENANCE MAN. He thinks he?s ?Sheriff? of the Apartments and everyone living there. He makes rules and tells the tenants that he?s decided they should obey these rules. He recently made a rule that tenants were not allowed to sit on their buildings front porch and passed out a letter to that effect. An attorney of one of the tenants informed the maintenance man that he has no authority to make rules of any kind. He is simply an employee, hired to do the maintenance for the apartments. Funny how he doesn?t seem to think any rules apply to him. He has a boat parked at the complex and I?m sure he doesn?t pay storage fees. To my knowledge, boats are not allowed. Tenants who want cats must pay a $30 fee and it has been said that he doesn?t have to pay this fee and still has a cat. Is that fair to any of the other tenants who have pets' I think not! Hey, tell your family that if they have a boat, to put it in your name for the winter and you can park it for them for free at your apartment complex to save them storage fees. (Get the drift') This same maintenance man has been seen constantly riding family members on a motorcycle throughout the complex, and at improper speeds and areas. Where is the safety in that'

If this maintenance man would set an example himself, then maybe there wouldn?t be so many upset tenants. It?s hard to sit back and watch a person abuse the position they?re in and try to tell others what to do when they aren?t doing anything themselves.

Another thing is that the halls and stairwells are hardly ever cleaned, light bulbs are burned out constantly and it takes forever to get them replaced. This is a danger for tenants, and it could be a liability for the owners of the apartment building if someone gets hurt.

This maintenance man runs around like he owns the place, telling other tenants what to do, or trying to tell them what to do. He yells at some women tenants constantly but does not seem to confront the male tenants. Guess this makes him feel powerful. He makes rules of his own and tells the tenants they have to listen to him because he has authority to make rules. The police had to be called recently because the maintenance man actually threatened a tenant. What?s next' He does not do the job he was hired to do and spends way too much time worrying about what everyone else is doing.

Many of the tenants have talked to each other about this person and the things going on at the complex. Those in Building ?A? have expressed to me that they all get along with each other, and the maintenance man is the one causing trouble. We feel he should be permanently ousted from these apartments and a new person hired to fill the position.

I am hoping that the owners decide to set up a meeting for the tenants to discuss their concerns. Maybe then this place will be somewhere a person wants to live.
