I have lived in Settlers Place for several years and know many other long time residents.
There are some problem people (and not all college students, there are alot of adults and older people who are bigger pains than the college students) but if you talk with the office staff, they do the best they can to take care of it and you will find that if someone is a constant problem, they don't last any longer than their lease.
I feel like it's a safe, well maintained complex. The office staff is professional as well as very personable. They enjoy people stopping in with their pets and always have treats on hand to give out. They also have no problem signing for FedEx or UPS packages when you aren't home. My building is very quiet, the most noise you hear is people screaming outside or people rudely honking their car horns to get the attention of someone.
I do wish that they would do more maintenance in the apartments for long time residents. I could badly use a paint job and some new carpet. I also wish that rather than the FIOS installation they would consider putting hookups in the apartments for small washer/dryers..the laundry room on site is VERY expensive and a hassle to haul laundry up and down the stairs.
