This apartment was my first so I don't have any to compare it too but I hope that other apartment complexes do a better job at protecting their tenants then this place did. First there are absolutely no locks on any of the doors. The laundry is in the basement in a converted apartment where your storage is also located. Besides the fact that it floods and ruins anything that you might have stored down there, there is a sliding glass door in this room which is slightly open every day during the summer to help get some fresh air inside. Leaving it open for any strange man to jump right in and do whatever he wants with you or your children. In early 2002 there was a rape in one of the buildings. A man slid into a girls apartment complex through her sliding glass door and took her by knife point out of the shower, into her bedroom and raped her. Even after this happened, there were never any security "upgrades". For instance, the outside doors to all of the building still have no locks, they don't even have any doorknobs actually. They push open and shut, that's it. If someone wanted to they could walk into your building, walk right up to your apartment door and knock on it. No problem. The mail is now outside. So not only are you in an apartment complex with no security what-so-ever, you also have to walk outside, away from your building to pick up your mail.
On a different note... one day my boyfriend came home from work for lunch which he usually doesn't do... and to his and my surprise there were 2 men in our apartment painting our patio door. No one told us... what if I was home when 2 strange men unlocked my apartment door and proceeded to come in'
There were these horrible thousand legger bugs that always showed up in the summer... they never went away. We had a squirl make a home in our heating vent once. We could see its little foot reaching through the heat vent sometimes. We called management, they sent 2 guys over who banged on the heater from the patio... nothing came out so they gave up. Do you think they would board up the big hole that was a doorway for any creature who wanted to go up there... nope. A few months later we smelled something foul and found the dead squirl ourselves and had to dispose of it ourselves.
We had management send us complaint letters once because we had a plain green wreath hanging on our patio, no decorations on it, just a plaing green wreath. They said tenants were upset because Christmas passed 2 months before. Yet there is a woman that lives in building A who has a disgusting amount of decorations all over the front of her patio all year round... To drive into the complex you must drive by her apartment, and to top it off she bends over while doing her yardwork every summer day so when you are pulling into the complex you can see right up her shirt to her bare breasts. Unless you are a sleezy man without children this is pretty disgusting. Someone should send her a complaint letter telling her to tuck in her loose, short shirts when she is bending over... there are children that live in this communty.
When it snows... GOOD LUCK, that's all I can say!
I definately don't recomment this place.

I TOTALLY ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY AGREE - The snow removal improved.....some because two people fell and one called a lawyer....but the "maintenance" crew still doesn't show up to clear pathways until 8:00 or 8:30 when it snows...I wait to go to work in the snow to avoid accidents but I'm worried about the parking lot more than Route 30! The unsecured patio doors in the laundry/storage rooms are not an exageration - the screens were proped against the railing with the patio door open - besides human intruders - the rodents i.e. skunks on the property. I complained and of course I get a laugh from the office and "what do you want us to do about the skunks". I too had an animal in my heating duct twice...they only believed me because my cat heard it and stood watch the entire night. THE BUGS THE BUGS THERE NOTHING LIKE TURNING ON A LIGHT AND SEEING A 3 INCH BROWN BUG WITH LEGS SITTING ABOVE YOUR BED THEY CAME OUT WHEN IT WAS DAMP, THE WEATHER GOT COLD AND NOW WHEN IT GETS HOT. The maintenance never sprays around the building or in the building, the AC filter hasn't been changed in 2 years, the bulbs in the hallways above the unlocked doors are out...again.. the bulbs are too cheap to last. Our stove has stopped working in the middle of cooking several times......the next day it worked for maintenance. Security deposit? I know not to hold my breath.
