I am not the type of person who usually posts comments or reviews in any websites. In fact this is the first one ever! But I feel compelled to do so because of my year long ordeal in Colonial Towers.
This place is not worth the money, although it is cheaper than most other places in the area. I think the reason for this is the management which consists of a very rude lady and nobody else.
Rest assured that you will lose your deposit no matter how well you keep up your place. I have never lost a cent on my previous two apartments but lost 90% of the deposit on this one. Even though the place looked cleaner and better when I moved out than when we moved in.
Parking and particularly navigating inside the complex is a total nightmare and security hazard. Buildings are laid out in an unplanned way and accidents are just waiting to happen.
Make sure you have AWD vehicle and snow chain/tires when it snows. Multiple days go by before snow is cleaned if at all. I have seen them to just let it melt and do nothing.
The units are really old and have the worst quality appliances I haver ever seen. I paid twice in heating bill than I pay now in my house that is twice the size of the apt. The carpets (if you call them that) are depressing and old and are never changed. Although the previous renter lost deposit so you should get new ones. All in all this place needs renovation badly.
The complex is particularly noisy although most of it is from the train tracks nearby. The only good point during our stay were the neighbors.
If you really want to rent in this complex make sure you document and let management know of every little itty bitty problem with the unit. I recommend taking pictures for evidence. It is guranateed that you will need them when you leave. And with the kind of behavior you'll get from mgmt it might be soon.
IMHO this place is not worth the money you'll pay or dignity you'll lose.
