I lived for a year in a top floor apartment in this old mid-city building. As the winter approached the apartment got weirdly colder and then I discovered it had zero insulation above the ceiling - nothing at all to keep the heat in! After many arguments with the dreadful management they finally fixed the problem by cutting holes in the ceilings and blowing insulation into the space above. A few months later we had major roof leaks and then we negotiated an early termination of the lease and left.
This 44 story old building is in a superb city location and has a wonderful enclosed roof top heated pool and gym. It has no sprinkler system but does have modern fire alarms. A great pity that the management is so bad. I would not recommend this apartment building as there are better options these days.
