Clearly this building is an example of a property owner taking advantage of city incentives to renovate then walk away from the maintenance of the building. Philadelphia should not allow Turchi to touch another building. This city should be embarrassed.
Many times residents are awakened with fire alarms for no apparent reason. Hot water just seems to stop for an entire day. Hope your gym is nearby so you can shower for work. Electricity goes out. Have a clock that runs by batteries. Stock up on candles. Get used to using the stairs and even possibly getting stuck in an elevator. Today, the garbage shoot is not in working order. The residents are leaving their trash in the hallway. Does not smell so great. Obviously, corners were cut during the renovation. If there are this many problems today what will this building be like in five years' What will break down then'
When first looking for a place in Philadelphia I wanted a gym to be in the building. All marketing materials handed to me after looking mentioned a gym. Guess what - no gym here. Maybe the stairs were what Turchi had in mind for a gym.
People who work for Turchi also seem to just disappear into thin air. When I inquired about the first person I dealt with I was told she was a thief. Well isn't that reassuring since I filled out an application with my SS# on it! The next person apparently kept all the problems and issues raised by residents with regard to the building to herself. I am not buying this. I have owned businesses I stayed on top of all projects.
The good news: The front desk?s staff is excellent. So security is not an issue here.
