Turchi Property is run by scoundrels

One would think that all the problems mentioned in the previous postings with unexplained electricity charges, failing plumbing system, malfunctioning elevators and 5 AM fire alarms would be enough. Not for Turchi!
When I moved in, I carefullly read my lease and inquired with the leasing agent about Turchi's subleasing policy, since the lease specifies that tenants "may sublet...upon consent of Landlord." I specifically asked about this term for the simple reason that I knew I would need to sublet my studio for the summer months, when I would not be in Philadelphia. The leasing agent expicitly told me that--as long as the sublessee was reliable--Turchi would definitely grant their consent. Now, management is telling me that it is their policy not to allow any sublets under any circumstances.
Basically, Turchi is attempting to entrap me into a new interpretation of "consent" which is (1) contrary to what they had specifically told me at the time of signing; (2) completely unreasonable, since it makes the term in the lease both misleading and fraudulent. At this point, unless they stick to their word, I will just have to initiate legal action to have their promise enforced!
My point is this: the management of 1930 Chestnut Street is morally despicable and untrustworthy. Do not do any business with them.
