I am a first year graduate student at Penn who is living with my boyfriend, also a first year grad student. It is our first apartment, and we have been very happy here. It is really nice to have a gym in the building, and the shuttle for rainy/cold days is a real plus. The staff are incredibly nice, and you get free laundry. It is a bit expensive, but if you live in a 2-bedroom with someone else it is very reasonable for the area. The insulation is not very good, but otherwise everything works well. LOTS of closet space, and a fairly spacious kitchen. You can have cats too. Finally, if you have a car, you probably won't find more secure/reasonably priced parking in Center City.
