My daughter started a new job in Philly and had to find housing very fast in the early summer. Luckily, she located a sublease at 2400 Chestnut and it couldn't have been a better experience.
It started with Mary Jane the manager who went out of her way to help us, and make my daughter feel welcome. The warmth continued with each doorman and the garage attendant, who were so helpful whenever anything came up.
I don't know what the other poster could be talking about regarding bugs, because she never saw anything during her stay, and she was on an upper level floor.
The buildling is so solidly built that she never heard other tenants, and the hallways were alway quiet. Perhaps this changes when most of the tenants return after the summer break'
The location of this building is great, with river views, and the universities across the river. The train station was a 5 minute pleasant walk away on the other side of the river.
The cameras all around, as mentioned by the previous poster, is another great thing about this building, because it is so constantly monitored.
Overall, the friendliness of everyone in the lobby or on an elevator made this shortterm experience to great. It's the kind of place where people hold the door for each other.
I am sad she is leaving, but her lease is up. It's been great, and what a great start for her new life in the city!
