I have lived in Alden Park since December 2002.
First the negative:
The heat in the winter is a problem. This has to do lack of window insulation. This does cause the electric bill to increase in the winter.
Now the positives:
(1)Whenever I have a maintenance problem, I call before I leave for work and EVERY time I come home the problem is fixed.
(2)I have NEVER seen a rodent(if I see or hear a mouse I am gone!!!) or roach. The only bugs were the ones that entered through my open windows (usually lady bugs). I am very impressed since it is a older building.
(3)I almost never see anyone in the hallway and I never hear my neighboors in my unit.
(4) I enjoy parking behind the gated community.
(5)Very close to gas stations and two grocery stores (Pathmark and Shoprite). I have NEVER had ANY problems.
(6)Very close to the R8 regional rail.
(7)The bedroom is very spacious.
I have lived in Center City for 14yrs prior to moving to Alden Park. In my younger days, I enjoyed being in the hustle and bustle of downtown. I now enjoy the park-like setting of Alden Park.
I read the negative comments of other and that provoked me to write this. In addition, there are so MANY prominent, high profile people who live at Alden. I am sure they would not live there if all of the negatives were true most of the time.
