I moved in last summer and we absolutely loved this place. We had a huge one bedroom and a pool! It wasn't the best place in the world, but it was affordable while I paid off some student loans during my residency. We were happy all summer and then September came and the college students from PhillyU moved in. This was after we were told by the leasing agents they kept the prices high enough to keep things under control and keep the younger students out! Now I have 3 or 4 girls (about 19-21 years old) living in a 2 bedroom down the hall and getting out of hand most weekends (They split a 2bdrm and so pay about $300-400 each, where we pay $1500). Management really doesn't do anything about the weekends and the vomit story is true. Yesterday AFTERNOON, one of the girls up the hall was so drunk she could barely stand while trying to open her door, all the while letting out F-bombs loud enough for us to hear in our place. Even the security guards complain about the situation and liked it when things were quieter. I know students are students and I had fun in college too. But we won't live here next year. If you like being awakened from sleep at 3am by your neighbor's drunk houseguest pounding on your door because she cannot remember their apartment number....live here, destroy the place, management won't do anything. If you want to feel confident you will be able to sleep at night because you are pre-call or have an important meeting the next day....maybe you should find someplace else to live. This place is getting really bad.

I am a full time student at PhilaU and also work my butt off both in and out of class. While I don't condone vomiting in the elevator, I don't appreaciate your distain of college students living in your building. I live next door to "professonals" like you and have made several complaints about noise, so as far as I am concerned, every tenant is evenly matched and no specific demographic can be to blame. If students bother you so much, and you are in fact a hardworking "professional," why are you living in apartment to begin with?

Really this response is a pretty uninformed and naive opinion. Many professionals have to pay off loans while earning a starting training pay (residencies pay about $55K/yr and med school is $120K, you do the math). Living in a nice apartment that is a little more expensive while they do this can be very attractive. Alden Park was like that. Now it really isn't. Plus I have to say if you are going to have someone do something stupid in your building it will likely be one of the students. One was so drunk this afternoon she could not open her door for twenty minutes while she just staggered outside her place.
