After reading ALL the other reviews we were a little nervous moving in here. We saw complaints ranging from rowdy college student to mice to roaches. However after living here for 6 months we have had had no problems. Residents are given adequate notice before any work is done in the building. I saw that people have issues with poor insulation, fixtures, etc..., remember, you're moving into a building that was built in the early 1900's so it will not be as great as a brand new apartment. The apartments are beautiful and have personality. Everybody that visits us us in awe when walking through our door. For anyone who wants to complain about utilities and rent prices, try living in NJ or NY.
Now I feel compelled to comment about the horrible comments people have made about the Philadelphia University students. Everybody we have run into in the building have been nice and quiet. Vomiting, noise, and carrying on is not an accurate description of what goes on here. People who have commented and how idiotic students behave, they should consider not living in an apartment building down the road from a university. Furthermore, college students are people and to come on this website and openly insult is quite rude and very immature. The question then arises who is the real problem them or YOU.
Ok now for the problems: Heating and a/c is not up to par but efficient considering the age of the buildings. Maintenance is very slow in responding to problems that they don't consider a priority. The windows do not have screens. This could be dangerous for pets and children on higher floors. This also allows for insects to come in.
