Termites, Mice and OLD!!!

The other reviewer hit it right on the head when he said OLD. And yes, it includes the tenants, heating/air system and electrical wiring. But you can read the 1999-2000 review for that scoop. I have more to tell.

I moved here because their sister building "chapelcroft apts." was such a dump. But low and behold I jumped from the frying pan into the fire. First of all, I was attacked by a swarm of termites that ate through the floor and then almost had a heart attack when I was practicing on my keyboard and a mouse ran past me into the kitchen. Leasing did respond quickly when I called, but I am paying way too much to have to deal with these types of (recurring) problems. I may as well get a place in the hood for $250 a month if I want to share my home with rats, roaches and termites.

Also, because of the old electrical system in place, every lamp that I plugged into the wall in my bedroom eventually stopped working. They would first flicker on and off, then nothing. I had to run an extension cord from the living room into the bedroom to get any light. Also, all of the closets kept going off track. It only happened whenever you opened or closed them. I called maintenance a zillion times and they always came and put them back on - but never fixed the problem. Why install new tracks or both new tracks and doors' I think he enjoyed visiting my apartment.

As in Chapelcroft, it also stinks in this building. It's a combination of old people and slack maintenance. Plus, they have never fixed the broken air conditioner/heater in the living room (although they have come by to look at it). They never shampoo the rugs in the commons halls and people are always leaving trash in the stairwells and parking lots. Speaking of parking lots, once you get past the garbage, you can't help but at some point stumble into the numerous pot holes that they never fill. If you decide to move here, note that maintenance never fixes anything, they patch it up and it's usually a very sloppy, unprofessional and amatuerish job. The bathroom has big clunks of caulk everywhere.

One positive: it is relatively quiet here - walls are practically sound proof if you can believe it.

They call this a luxury apt. complex, but I can't tell.
