Bala Apartments

This place is DANGEROUS! From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 7/17/2008 Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2006 1 response   I lived at the Bala Apartments for two years. The first year was not soo bad. By not so bad maintenance was decent to me and since I had a cat the mice weren't terrible. The scariest parts were when the bar was open across the street, the city shut it down but hten let it reopen. Drunk people used to break into the front entrance and run around the building banging on doors. There was also a shooting in the building next to mine and we ended up on lockdown by the swat team as they tried to get the man out of his apartment. The second year I moved into the first building with the managers office in it. We were on the 5th floor and about a month after moving in we learned the elevator didn't work in a safe manor. Twice I got stuck in the elevator and had to call 911. Once it fell and when I complained to the city they claimed that inspection went fine....I don't see how but I lived the rest of hte year walking up five flights of stairs. Management claimed I was lying and it was a horrible mess. I used to watch drug deals in the parking lot across the street from my apartment and the bug problem in this apartment was disgusting. Nothing I did worked. The heat was horrible in both apartments because there are the settings of hot and hotter so even though it was included I was using electric for fans to cool things down g-hKOS7s4Nq5n3hEIpHd
