I lived in the bala apartments from 2004-2006. The only reason I stayed so long was because I could not get out of my lease. PGW came out to my apartment the first year to check the stove. It was determined I had a small gas leak and the management was aware of it. PGW notified them again and they ignored it. I sent them copies of the fines PGW was charging them with and the charges brought up against them, it never got fixed. I tried speaking with Illene numerous times but was met with an attitude each and every time. This building definately has a mouse infestation(five mice in a month) and they could not care less. Management claims to have cameras in the building, there are none. I was stalked by a man who eventually got arrested after a year. When I asked management about providing videotape to the police so he could be found, I was told there were no cameras. In Febrauary of 2006 a man came knocking at my door asking if this was the right apartment for "a massage". Thankfully I wasn't home alone, my girlfriends and I called the police who never showed up. Who knows what's really going on in this building. Also in 2006, a man upstairs from me shot himself and his wife. This incident was all over the news if you'd like to do some research. I lived in the 2465 Building. A homeless man slept in the doorway whenever he felt like it. This place is totally unsafe, management is careless and rude, I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. You're better off being homeless rather than moving here.
