I would only recommend this place to my worst enemy. Don't expect maintance to fix anything within there 24 hour policy. If they come at all it will take at least a week. In addition, make sure you're there or you'll end up with a wet spot on your bed that soaked down to the mattress that no one knows a anything about. Bugs are a common occurence and the smoke detector goes off whenever the oven is on. All of this for only $920 a month.

In addition to my other comment: I think you are paranoid. The maintenance men here are polite, timely, and above all, extremely helpful. The two Joes are more interactive in this building than I have ever seen in my 50 plus years of apartment renting, I have to add that I am speaking about my NATION WIDE apartment residency. Ihave lived all over the country and they are by far the best I have dealt with. Joe and Joe work extremely well together compared to how the maintenence staff was before their arrival, so hopefully this person was talking about the staff member who is no longer here. It disheartens me to think that someone would dishonor these two personable, hard working men.

Perhaps the first poster is overreacting, or they had a particularly bad experience, which can happen. But the second poster also seems like...management! Come on, people, let's try for some objectivity here. These rating sites are often the only way to get a "real" picture of what an apartment is like.

Wow, are you sure you've got the building right? I lived at Beekman Place for 3 years and every single maintenance request I had was handled the same day, often within 10 minutes of making the request. The maintenance guys are extremely helpful and friendly, and the manager (now there is a new one, but she's nice too) was VERY diligent about making things happen and making the tenants happy. This was the absolute best place I've ever lived in my life, and I own my own home now!

Maybe the person that made this comment about this place is mean to maintenance. Remember what goes around comes around. I've heard nice things about this place and used to work at PCOM and visit on of my friens at this location. It's quiet, it's neat, no dealers on the corner. Basically you're not in Fort Knox.
