THe Ben Franklin decides that since it is conveniently located to the Jefferson Hospital and the school that it can charge its tenants whatever price. The realtor had the price of the apt confused 3 times. Each time it was something new. Even when we moved in, apparently there was a cable charge especially since we were told it was included, and it's not cheap. Cable is NOT included and it is $40/mo on top of the expensive rent.
The apartments are big, but they are of the same quality anywhere else. I get big electricity bills from the building because in the summer they turn on the AC in the hallways until it is literally freezing and that shows in my bill, especially since I was practically gone the whole summer.
The landlords need to stop making up stuff as they go along because they charged my one friend a cable hookup fee, which um, doesn't EXIST!
There are many other places around the city that are just the same size and in a good location. The lobby is just a joke because those security guards really do let anyone in as long as it seems like you live here.
The people in the office are very FAKE and especially the bitchy secretary who ignores you when you enter and is just IMing all day. This is where all my rent money is going to, very uneducated people running the place. I know the general manager of the building lives in the penthouse...OF COURSE she's happy. basically there are other places down on 9th and pine which even include electricity for a flat fee. In every way, the Ben tries to entice you to live there by giving you all these "free things" but they're really there to just ROB you of your money.
