Not What It Used to Be

Having lived at Bromley for over ten years I can say with much dismay "Thinds Ain't What They Used To Be' to use the song title. The main concerns I have stem from the character of the new tenants. The relatively new manager has no problems accepting applications from whoever!. Screening potential tenants seems to be a thing of the past. So as the manager was new, also came an influx of people who apparently were accustomed to filth and noise. On any given night I am awakened by loud voices from the parking lot or blasting car radios. It could be anywhere from 2:00 to 4:30 in the morning. These people must be on China's time schedule. As a matter of fact, there is as Chinese lady who gets out of a car about 4 every morning talking that chang chang! At times I have found myself yelling back out my window requesting (respectfully of course, I don't wanna get shot!) those to cease their loud, afternoon-like conversations. Of course I have to arise for work at 5:15 so my day is already off to a bad start. It was nothing like this when I first moved here. I wish these folks would go back to China, or 29th St or where ever the hell they come from! (I'm sure the folks who saw me move in thought the exact same thing!)
So then I think "call security". Then I think "There IS NO security". There used to be security, and what I can say at best now is there is OCCASIONAL security. Management does not feel we deserve the courtesy of or an explanation as to what happened to security. So we are left to speculate and do without. Sure wasn't like that back in the day.
Then there are the matters of advertised anemnities such as courtesy van service, aforementioned security, fitness room, adult swimming hours. These things no longer exist, however, they did when I first moved here.
So you may ask, "Then why do you still live there'" The answers are few but legit. Access to public transportation, affordability, top notch maintenance, the hope that if if I stay here long enough these morons will move first, and my personal laziness keep me paying the ever increasing rent. Yeah rent ain't what it used to be either, but comparative shopping has led me to believe rent could be alot worse.
So there's my scoop on Lindy Property owned Bromley Apts. If you come from the ghetto you should feel at home, but for my sake, STAY AT HOME!!!
