If you are used to sub standard quality than this is the place for you! I absolutely hate it here. FIRST of all, when i viewed the apartment for the first time there were some things that i noticed that needed to be fixed. In addition to the assistant of the leasing office smelling like booze, there was paint buckling above my air conditioner, uneven carpeting, a window without a screen, a broken door knob, and trash in the supply closet. I was assured by the Older Woman (yes there is a mother daughter team) that everything would be taken care of since they weren't really major problems....NONE of these things were done when I moved in. I took care of cleaning some of these things up myself. When maintenance finally arrived, they came unannounced and left no notice that they were there. The only reason I was able to tell that someone was in my apartment was by the dirt they left all over the floor. And the new screen that was replaced has a hole in it. Naturally, I flipped and they told me that coming in the apartment that way is how they do business. It has been 6 months and I am still waiting for my door knob and my holey screen...I gave up hope for those.
When I continued my initial search through my apartment I also noticed mice tracks in the DRAWER! Now i haven't seen any mice, probably because i immediately left to get a cat.
Another GROSS situation that occured...during my sleep a roach fell on my fiances face. I demanded an exterminator and was told that I would have to be on the waiting list! I have never EVER had roaches in my life so i didn't bring them with me! The next day i saw a severed cockroach behind my couch (thanks to my cat) I went out and bought poison to spray instead of waiting. Needless to say i haven't seen anything since. GROSS right' I am still waiting for the exterminator. Another thing thAt i have just given up hope on.
The diswasher broke within the first 2 months of living there and it took them an additional 2 months to come out and fix it even after i told them that it was flooded with stagnant water (which was finally emptied out thanks to yet another personal effort).
The kitchen and bathrooms are very tight...and you can forget about water pressure. Sometimes when you are in the shower the water pressure drops to dripping and the bathroom sink makes a loud popping sound when you know the hot water is about to cut off. I am tired of calling the office so I just have to deal with this until my lease is up.
NOISE is a major problem. I always hear my neighbor beneath me yelling. They play music LOUD all hours of the day and night. I have repeatedly complained. Now i don't mind music... everyone wants to hear a loud movie or a loud song once in a while....but when i can't hear my own television''' Or when it wakes me up @ 4:30 - 6:30 in the morning...I HAVE A SERIOUS PROBLEM with that. Would't you''
I hope everybody who is considering this apartment reads this review and turns around and runs like the wind. You wouldn't learn about these things UNLESS you moved in. They "clean" up the apartment nice enough so that you consider the property. It was the size of the apartment that sold me because i needed a 2 bedroom. DO NOT i repeat DO NOT RENT HERE. BTW sedgwick station is still called sedgwick station. The canterbury is a much nicer complex (at least it appears that way), with much higher rent, owned by the lousy Gorman Group. Oh yeah if you vacuum or blow dry your hair too long.... the power will cut off.

This is run by the Galman Group, one nasty organization. When you read the posts from their various properties you notice there is one thing in common to most of their properties. Galman Group has a habit of not returning security deposits or if they do it is very small. Make sure you read your lease before signing it, once you do, they got you.
