I have a studio apartment, and unfortunately i have to move out of it. Of course, with any apartment there are both pros and cons but i think the pros definately outweigh the cons.

Cons
-One of the two elevators is usually out of service, but during the shut down, the freight elevator is in service so you don't have to wait much longer than usual.
-The elevators, including the freight, are small especially when you have to stop at every floor.
-Noisy area between Wed-Sun after 9pm, but in center Philadelphia, especially the gayborhood, that is expected.
-Numerous obnoxious transexuals outside at night.
-A common problem in apartment is that the drains in the showers clog often, but maintence is easy to get ahold of and they fix it.
-If you have a car in the city, you won't be able to find meter-free parking for 5 blocks (past south st.) and it's not the safest neighborhood.
-The walls are made of plaster, making it very difficult to hang things.
-Rent is raised after your first year.

Pros.
-Beautiful apartment, and although the higher floor you're on, the higher your rent is, it's well worth it because you have a beautiful view.
-Large windows provide alot of light and shelves are built in under the windows.
-New oven and refrigerator provided.
-New hardwood floors.
-I have NEVER seen any bugs or mice, as stated in other reviews, not even in the laundry room or trash room.
-The trash room does get filled quickly, but it's in the back so the smell is retained, and it's never impossible to throw out your trash.
-Very thick walls, so I never hear my neighbors.
-Friendly door people.
-Very nice neighbors.
-Convienent to Septa, Patco, shopping, and dining.
-I always feel very safe walking around my neighbor hood at most hours.
-I've never had a problem with office staff.
-Secure entry.
-All utilities included aside from electric, and the electric bill is always low.
-First year summer discount for students (half price rent in the summer.)
-Gym membership discount.
-HUGE walk-in closets.

I am very sad to be leaving this building and I really enjoyed it here. It is a decent price for the area and well worth it, because of the spacious apartments. I would definately recommend this building.

honey first of all you must work for them or they paid you to write something positive. the elevators have been breaking since my sister lived in the chancellor and that was 6 yrs ago. i must admit at least the washers and dryers have been up to par. nothing clean at the chancellor i take the stairs and it looks like they have never been swept. Chancellor clean, maybe paint a little and people will stay.
