Calling all Students! Calling All Disrespectful, Ignorant Students!
In the rush to fill the building, more and more students are being approved as tenants, they are making too much noise on any number of floors for the long-term residents, the ones who have to get some sleep in order to go to work in the morning. There is now graffiti on the walls, beer bottles left in the elevators, vandalism in the elevators and laundry room and parties until the early morning, etc. i.e. Your basic fraternity house.
The previous property manager was fired because she was rightfully selective in not bringing in just anyone and the vacancy rate went up a bit. If you: want an apartment with thin walls, do not wish to sleep soundly at night, want neighbors who yell and have loud conversations in the hallways and while waiting for the elevator, want neighbors who are too stupid to know it is not OK to slam the door shut every time they leave the apartment - this is the place for you.
The front desk and housekeeping/maintenance staff are very friendly. It is a shame they have no control over who winds up living in the building, but they have to deal with the bad behaviors on the part of the students.

I've lived here for over a year and am a student. There have always been students here. My school recommended this building cause they said they have sent students here for a long time. When I applied, the leasing agent who took my application told me that the corporate office had to approve it, not the manager. The new manager, Tracy, seems nice, have you talked to her?

No, but thanks for the feedback. I was a student once myself and lived on campus. The complaint really is about not segregating floors between students and non-students and having to deal with common area bad behaviors on the part of what is an increasing number of younger tenants, widely known to be students. My days of partying and staying up late are long over and having quality of life issues negatively affected by these behaviors is unacceptable. Due diligence on any apartment building needs to include disclosure on the percentage of students in the building.
