Yo!

Nice Apartments (but with big problems)

I really like my apartment. The maintenance here is great and the management is very friendly. The complex is known for being very dog friendly and there's almost as many dogs living here as there are people. Sometimes the hallways or elevators smell like dog pee, but usually they don't. Overall, a nice place to live.

HOWEVER,
the rent I pay is a little more than what I feel I'm getting out of this place. The walls block about as much sound as paper and I can even hear when my nextdoor neighbor opens the fridge or when my downstairs neighbor sneezes (he's thanked me for saying, "bless you" before). As nice as the management can be, they have straight out lied to me. I have been given the run-around about why there is NO CABLE OR HIGH SPEED INTERNET available here since I got here (and others tell me they've been hearing it for years). I hear the management has been trying to work out lucrative exclusive deals with different companies for their own profit but are so ridiculous with their demands that no company will actually sign with them (this is unconfirmed, of course). In short, DO NOT BELIEVE THEIR LIES; there is only dial-up internet here and Direct TV satellite cable service and this WILL NOT BE CHANGING ANYTIME SOON.

The guardhouse is a joke. I can't count the amount of times my friends have come to visit and have just knocked on my apartment door after waltzing past both the guard and the building door. Several cars have been robbed inside the fully lit garage since I moved here. We're just on the cusp of some really bad neighborhoods and I have even hear the occasional gunshot late at night. There's also Route 1 right outside your window so if you open it (your window) the peaceful sounds of cars and trucks speeding down the road will fill your apartment. Nevermind the railroad tracks which freight trains rumble down several times a day (and Night) rattling the entire building.

Overall, this place is just not worth the money they charge. The place looks great from the inside and is well maintained, but everything else sucks.
