Yo!

TERRIBLE

We stayed in this place for quite some time, mostly out of unfortunate necessity. NOTE, originally CH was under MUCH, MUCH better management. This has since changed.

First, the noise. We lived on the 39th street side. The noise emanating from the street was constant. 3 bars, a major arterial street, random fights and even gun shots off the in the distance more than once. Don't expect to sleep much on the weekend if you dare open your windows. Not only that, in the time we were there, they cleaned and fixed a bunch of bricks which had literally started crumbling on the exterior. The noise from this was ABSURD. Imagine a sand blaster going off right outside your window at 9am. No exaggeration here.

Windows -- NEVER did they already clean the filthy windows, even after all the sand blasting of the exterior. And I do mean FILTHY, to the point where you could not see through them. Management promised to clean them, but never came through. Big surprise. Not that big a deal though, considering your view straight into someone else's window. I kept the blinds closed 99% of the time anyway.

And management in the latter years' Sheer hell. My favorite example: we had just put in out notice to vacate (noting they need at LEAST 3 months notice!). I was in the shower when lo and behold, the chief sales lady comes RIGHT into the apartment (using her own key) to show the place. NO warning. I went to complain and say that next time I wouldn't let her in without notice, and she tells me BS! She'll come in whenever the heck she wants and I can't do anything about it! I have NEVER been treated so badly. And this to a tenant that was NEVER late on rent! And after trying to complain to her management, I got a canned apology from him and the cold shoulder for the rest of our 3 months from her. She literally would not make eye contact for 3 months. Unbelievable.

Oh and let's not forget the giant cockroaches and the 15+ mice we had. Never have I seen bigger cockroaches. Luckily we only had 3-4 run around, but the mice would not stop. Now I don't mind mice, but to have an entire litter running around your apartment gets a bit disgusting.

My advice -- STAY AWAY. For the money, find a nice place across the river and just take the bus. Being close to Penn and Drexel is nice, but simply NOT WORTH IT for what you have to put up with.
