It amazes me how they can spend all this money on fixing luxury apartments, but they can't fix the other pool that has been out of commission for so long now. Does anyone know the story behind this' It would be nice to have two pools--but I should be careful what I wish for, right' They might raise the rent even more:-) LOL

Sorry that happened! I've been here since 2001, and I haven't heard of very many problems like that. If you like it here, you should stay. Did you give an extra key to any one?

I was a resident from 2006-early 2007 who unfortunatly got evicted. I was told I had thirty days to get my things out. When I came to get my things way before the deadline the majority of my things were gone. My bed set including matress, printer, sneakers, clothes, and my art portfolio for school along with some other things were all gone. I asked the managment and maintainance dept. if they had removed my things or if anyone has been in that apt. THEY SAID NO, NOR HAS ANY BEEN ALLOWED INTO THAT APT. NO ONE KNOWS WHAT HAPPENED. they tried to say that i did when i got the police involved.

ORIGINALLY POSTED OCTOBER 2006: I've been at CHV since 2002. I have heard other anecdotes like this one. With the way the renovation contractors lately are coming and going into so many apartment units every day, mostly unannounced visits, things are headed steeply downhill. At least when they replaced the windows 1-2 years ago, it was scheduled and announced, and each unit was done all at once. Now what they're doing is dribble-dribble-dribble renovation without advance notice, in and out of our unit literally dozens of times in the last 2 months. Communicating with mgmt has no practical effect. Everyone involved is either incompetent, new and clueless, or, worse, pretending to care while actually intentionally taking the residents for a ride. Also, it is starting to become apparent that AIMCO mgmt, above CHV mgmt, is a slickly-disguised con outfit, and that CHV mgmt itself evidently has no authority of its own. (Plus no competence anyway.) TAKE THE ONLY ACTION THAT THEY GIVE A CRAP ABOUT: WHEN YOUR LEASE ENDS, GO ELSEWHERE. I will do it next time and should have done it already.
HOWEVER: UPDATE: JUNE 2007: This resident is not helping those of us with legitimate complaints when she claims here that "no one else has my keys". Read the police report; her boyfriend had extra set of keys. Chestnut Hill Local, issue of Oct 19, 2006: "Oct. 10. 7700 block Stenton Ave. Complainant states she left building at 8 a.m. and when she returned at 6:30 p.m. she discovered the following items missing: a package of hot dogs, cereal, a pair of Nike slippers and money. No sign of forced entry. Boyfriend has extra set of keys. Reported at 8 p.m." http://www.chestnuthilllocal.com/issues/2006.10.19/creport.
