I have lived here for about 8 months and really enjoy it.
Positives:
My apartment is very large - everyone who comes over comments on the size
Maintenance very responsive and fix problems in your apartment quickly
Beautiful new windows in the apartment
Close to germantown avenue (a cute area in this part of down)
I have never felt unsafe, there is always plenty of parking and lighting
I have never had a single problem with bugs or mice. However, there is a exterminator that comes by once a week and you can have him do anything necessary or just preventative stuff.
Negatives:
Yes, a bit pricey (my 1 bdrm is $800), but they negotiate
Occasionally the water gets turned off for maintenance (usually 9AM-3PM maybe once every two months)
Sometimes you have to call more than once to get repairs done on areas of the building that are not inside your apartment (i.e. elevator breaks down and takes a while to get fixed).
Tips:
I don't know if anyone mentioned this but all the apartments are different sizes and shapes. If you want to know exactly what you're getting you need to see your exact apartment before signing a lease.
If you need anything talk to Mary in the management office, she is the best.
You get a deal if you are moving from another Aimco property

In our building there have been over 15 water shutoffs in the past 8 months. On the bright side, at least 10 of them had prior warning, so that leaves only 5 or so that were surprises. But it's OK because they always repeat "sorry for the inconvenience" on every notice slip. You can do anything you want as long as you repeat "sorry for the inconvenience" over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. Remember, Simply Superior Service.

I love when my water is shut off WITHOUT notice....especially since I don't have the typical 9-5 job, so when I try to get in the shower for work...no water... lovely! Cant WAIT until my lease is up! ....and PS... water is usually shut off multiple times a week, one time they forgot to turn it back on.... no water for 24 hrs, and about 3 times a month it is a SURPRISE shutoff.... thanks CHV!
