My husband and I moved in 6 months ago and can't get out soon enough. We found out after moving in that CHV has contracts with 5 different local colleges. There are at least 3 college kids on our floor alone. They use the hallways to congregrate, and they are usually outside very late on the lawns making a lot of noise. Additionally, our floor smells like maryjuana constantly. In addition to the college kids, there are always large groups of people outside at late hours in the night fighting and screaming. It seems very unsafe and we are moving. Because we are breaking our lease, they are charging us a relet fee- which we stupidly didn't notice in the lease. This is an additional $2500 to cover "damages" for re-renting the apartment. $2500 for paint' My favorite part was that they told us we had to give 60 days notice, which means we are paying rent through September 13, but then they told us they would be painting on September 1 and that new tenants were moving in on September 11. I'm not sure how they plan to do this if we're technically still paying to live there.
