Campus apartments is the epitome of the word "schiester" they act very nice and have an extremely professionsal appearance, but underneath they are no better than all the other slumlords of west philly. I was living in an apartment of thiers on the corner of 43rd and spruce. the fire escape door turned out to be no more than a flimsy wooden interior door which was easily kicked in and allowed my aprtment to be completely cleaned out in broad dailight. Campus apts. were kind enough to "relocate" me to concord hall and jack up my rent by 150% the place appeared nice from the outside, but on the inside it was no different from other crummy apts in the area. fifty coats of paint did little to cover the age of the walls, and by the time i moved out after a year, the walls had begun to split from expansion due to temperature changes. the place was constantly under assult from mice- although no roaches. the fire alarm went off at 4:00 am pretty much every day for six months. the first time it happened, my roomate and I were the only ones who were dumb enough to react the way we were taught- and so we were practically ht only idiots standing outside in our pajamas holding our valuables at 4 am. all in all, i have been in worse places than this one by far, but that is no excuse for getting the shaft with a $1200 rent. oh- and forget about getting your security deposit back. the leasing agent alex (scumbag) told us "we at campus apts are not in the buisness of keeping security depoists" what a lie. they charged us $200 for "cleaning the floors" when the floors were already clean- they just looked dirty becuase they were thirty years old! campus apartments was a nightmare. if you are richie-rich have fun staying here- but if you are sensible with your money, you can find somewhere a lot better.
