Waste of $$$ - NO POOL

We moved here thinking we would be able to enjoy the warm Philadelphia spring/fall seasons outdoors. In yet another budget cutback (as another reviewer pointed out they have made several this year, which concerns me greatly) they are leaving the pool closed and only opening it from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Ignore all those pretty pictures - most of the year you will just be stuck looking at an ugly black pool cover full of dead leaves. Their excuse was "this is standard for the area" to which I reply "the rent is certainly ABOVE standard for the area"... so why again would you live here'
Generally things are just done too cheaply and the service has gone downhill fast. We had planned on staying another year but will now be moving out. Save your money and your time and look elsewhere.

Do you know what the occupancy rate @ Domus is? Thanks.

I believe that they are getting much closer to full due to steep discounts they began offering this spring. As for the actual % I'd only be guessing. I did hear from one of the agents in the building that their headquarters "thinks that the real estate market will really come back in the fall" so they are apparently tightening up those discounts as they go into summer. Anyone who thinks the real estate market will "correct" in Philly any time in the next year can't be too well educated on the subject, in my opinion. Oh - ps - the biweekly power outages are the newest delight of living here!

The steep discounts are the result of a prorated two months free over the course of a lease, so effectively the market rent hasn't changed (according to what one of the agents told me). It doesn't help though that long term residents, like myself, who have rolled with the punches per cost of living here are paying HUNDREDS of dollars more per month for comparable units than what new tenants are paying as a result of these "specials". I am talking on the order of 20-30% more. Horrible.
