I am really confused by all of the negative feedback regarding The Drake. From what I hear, no apartment in Philadelphia is perfect. Even the $400,000 condos on Rittenhouse Sqaure have many problems. This is a great place to live! The staff is not only friendly, but will do whatever they can to be extra helpful. Doorman is overly congenial and holds the door for you when you leave or if you have a lot of things in your hands. I rented out The Drake Room on the first floor of the building, and the doorman waited for my food delivery to come because I couldn't make it back to the building in time. They have found my lost camera and saved it in a lock box for me. And, they call up every time I have a friend visit unless I tell them not to worry about it, and then they still usually call anyway just to follow appropriate safety measures. They fixed the lock on the gate. If anything, it's TOO safe and a hassle to go through, but I appreciate that it's there because I know there are a ton of buildings which are easier to get into.

I saw about 5 ants the entire year I have lived here and they were almost microscopic. I have not seen any other bugs and my power only went out twice from using too many electrical appliances, but that was my fault. I have only had to contact maintanance once in a whole year. My lease is up and I may be forced to move out because the rent is high. I would do anything to continue living in this building and you should definitely give it a try!

Oh, and the fire alarms... I have never had to leave the building due to a fire alarm. They have gone off, but it was because The Drake was cehcking to make sure they work, and they always send notices prior to doing this so that you can plan ahead.

GREAT PLACE TO LIVE!! A LOT OF YOUNG AND FRIENDLY PEOPLE! Not a negative thing to say about my experience living here!

yea right. What world do you live in, not the one that houses the drake. you have got to be kidding with this speech.
