I lived at The Drake for four years. While generally I was happy with it, I've changed my opinion in the last month. They made it very easy for us to move in four years ago, and it seemed as simple to move out. Until I received a $200 bill for cleaning.

Unless you are planning on never touching your appliances, bathroom or carpeting, I would not recommend The Drake. I've lived in 4 other apartments and have never lost any amount of my security deposit, much less been charged extra.

I called to dispute the charges with a woman in the Forest City collections department, who argued by telling me that she had been evaluating apartments for longer than I had been alive'!

I don't know how I could have protected myself better from this type of extortion, but I did want to let others know that they WILL be paying The Drake when they move out.

I totally agree! I kept my apartment in immaculate shape. Cleaned it spotlessly when I moved out. Had the management take a look at it when I left and say it looked fine and they STILL tried to keep my security deposit...claiming it had to be cleaned. And I must have spoke to the same woman at Forrest City when I tried to get it back (since the mangement at The Drake would no longer take or return my calls. It was a total scam.

Does anyone have the name, contact, email of the lady in forest city collection department?? I want my security deposit too. They are ignoring me.
