As a current resident, one of my compliants is the cable reception. The other residents at EH are equally discourage about this too. When you lease, they'll tell you that you'll get Comcast, but the problem is it's not digital cable. The management hasn't upgraded the buildings technology and therefore, we're only able to receive fuzzy analog channels. Plus, We lost service for 48 hours last week. If you move in, don't bring Tivo or HDTVs or expect to pause live TV. Dust off your VCR and try to remember how to work it.

Satelite TV isn't possible because of the lack of south western exposure. Therefore, everyone is relegated to Comcast cable only. I pay $80 monthly for about 20 grainy channels (including HBO). We don't get any digital channels including FX, Showtime, BBCAmerica etc. - its like 1980s basic cable. Resident's can't call Comcast either, because its a private account and Comcast doesn't know you exist! (1-800-Comcast).

Residents that live here all say that they'd never have moved into the building if they'd known about the cable issues and unresponsive management.

Very well put. When I moved in, I was promised that the dispute with Comcast would be resolved within my one-year lease term. However, I'm at the end of my seond year and no progress has been made. I would accept this inconvenience if the cable service was actually decent, in fact, it's unreliable and the costs do not reflect the poor service.

I don't watch much tv, so it's no big deal for me. In fact, it's more of a reason to get outside. But instead of paying $80 a month for bad cable, I just bought an antenna for the tv that can receive HD signal, and can pick up a number of great quality stations with it. It helps when the main area of broadcast is right down the street on City Ave.
